As much as I'm enjoying the 'summer', such as it is, I'm also keeping pretty pale. I was in a friend's wedding yesterday and as the temperatures climbed to 30 degrees while we took our outdoor photos, I slathered on the sunscreen and hid under an umbrella, LOL. Having taken my shirt off once in England ( not to get a tan but because I was digging a trench and was getting hot ) and getting serious burning on my back ( I didn't realise that it was getting burnt as I was so busy and it didn't hurt at that stage )  I am extremely cautious now. I can't describe how it felt when it reached the "itchy" stage. I was at work and every moment I could I had my shirt off and had my back against the cold walls of my darkroom BUT I was getting absolutely desperate and ( seriously ) almost going crazy for some relief. I was taken to the nearby Industrial Estate Health Clinic where a nurse put some special cream on my back that numbed my whole back immediately. I almost cried with relief. She gave me a tiny pot of it to take with me ( she said the cost was incredibly high and wasn't supposed to give any out ). I rationed that and lived in the shower ( cold ) to get me through the next 24 hours. By then, the usual "Suneeze" or similar creams started to help a bit.
